It’s the newest addition to the franchise, with the original film having premiered in 2021.

It’s set in Las Vegas, Nevada as a zombie apocalypse takes place.

Army of the Dead’s creator Zack Snyder has slammed bosses at Netflix for culling the show, despite already given a third instalment the green light.

The creator said: “The script is complete. The animation is nearly finished, and all of the voices have already been recorded for the series.”

Zack went on to say production was so close to wrapping up that fans “could watch it” now.

Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas was due to tell the origin story of one character from the first movie.

Fans were set to find out Scott Ward’s back story and more insight into what really happened during the initial zombie outbreak.

The disappointing news comes after its release date was previously pushed back due to delays.

At the time Zack revealed there were “technical reasons” for the hiccups.

It’s not known why Army of the Dead has been axed by Netflix but fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts.

One posted: “I’m sorry but a film a month a way with no marketing is not a good sign. Army of the dead was really the nail in Snyders coffin.”

A second wrote: “Army of the dead that got 75million views in the first 4 weeks.”

“Army of the Dead became Netflix’s 10th most watched film with 72million streams,” said a third.

It comes as Netflix revealed a whopping 56 titles are leaving the platform next month in a content shake-up.
