Flipkart Takes Jab At Amazon Ahead Of Festive Sale


Ecommerce giant Flipkart on Friday took a playful jab at its rival Amazon after a Google search result using the keywords ‘big billion day 2023,’ displayed a search related to Amazon on Friday.

Flipkart on its X post said ‘everyone’s sale runs on our name’.

The company’s jab comes as both platforms gear up to launch their annual flagship sales on 8 October.

Initially, Amazon had decided its “Great Indian Festival” sale on 10 October but later it aligned the date with Flipkart to give tough competition to the major when festive season purchases are at their peak.

Ahead of the sale, Flipkart also introduced a service called ‘Flipkart VIP’ in certain cities which is available at Rs 499 and comes with various benefits, such as early access to sales and a five per cent cashback on SuperCoins (up to 300) for all purchases, complimentary same-day and next-day deliveries.

Subscribers to Amazon Prime and members of Flipkart Plus are both looking forward for accessing their benefits.
