A media platform often
described as Ukraine’s answer to Netflix is expanding into education content,
according to a press release on Sept. 2.
Megogo has launched ‘MEGOGO Education’ in time for the new school year in Ukraine, which began on Sept. 1. The service contains more than 1,000 lectures for both children and adults.
Four main topics predominate: IT, business and creativity, education for children, and ‘English and self-development.’
MEGOGO Education also offers partner programs via third-party services, including Ukraine’s national edutainment platform, Diya.Osvita, as well as the Projector Institute.
Megogo recently made the headlines after it announced it would support mental health education for Ukrainian children in cooperation with an initiative of Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zalenska.
The interactive ‘How Are You?’ program is designed to encourage schoolchildren to express themselves and discuss their mental health. Designed to operate on Megogo, the program will help to stabilize the emotional well-being of Ukraine’s students with lessons and awareness, according to Zelenska.
The platform could also be used to provide nationwide lectures that help students learn valuable wartime skills, like the new ‘Defense in Ukraine’ class being piloted in Lviv that teaches students drone operation, mine awareness, first aid, and orienteering.
