Adam Sandler and his real-life family are making their mark in the upcoming Netflix film, “You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah.” The first official trailer for the movie, which is adapted from Fiona Rosenbloom’s popular coming-of-age novel, has been released. The film is set to stream on August 25th.
The story revolves around Stacy Friedman and Lydia Katz, two best friends who are trying to navigate the challenges of middle school life. As Stacy busily plans her bat mitzvah and daydreams about her crush, Andy Goldfarb, Lydia ends up stealing him away. This betrayal leads to a fallout between the two friends.
In this film, Sandler’s daughter Sunny takes on the lead role as Stacy, while his eldest daughter Sadie also has a presence. Additionally, Sandler’s “Uncut Gems” co-star, Idina Menzel, plays his wife in the movie.

The film was directed by Sammi Cohen, with a script written by Alison Peck. Sandler also serves as a producer alongside Happy Madison executive Tim Herlihy. Additional producers include Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton for Alloy Entertainment, as well as executive producers Barry Bernardi, Judit Maull, and Kevin Grady.
